Design Internship @Promega
Designing Across Brand and Product
Project Overview
At Promega, I create digital and print assets that make complex scientific research more accessible. My work includes campaigns, flyers, banners, icon systems, and visual libraries across eight research focus areas. I also support ProScience Club, a global scientific community platform, by designing feature branding, UI assets, and engagement materials across learning, networking, and career-development experiences.

Internship Project 1: Brand Identity

Evolving Promega’s Visual Language
During my internship at Promega, I explored how the company’s existing visual identity could better reflect the complexity and dimensionality of the science behind the brand. The goal was to build on its strong foundation while making the visual language feel more expressive, flexible, and contemporary.
I expanded the primarily 2D system into a 3D scientific visualization language, developing a modular asset library across eight research areas. The system was designed to scale across campaigns and brand applications while remaining cohesive and distinctly Promega.
Internship Project 2: Pro Science Club
Design Process
Understanding the Audience --> Extending the Logo into Toki
Through audience and visual research, I explored how Pro Science Club could feel more relevant to a younger generation of scientists and students. I tested playful color, illustration, character, and 3D directions across multiple mockups, eventually extending the logo character into Toki and building a flexible system of expressions, collectibles, merchandise, and digital applications. The result is a more approachable, social, and memorable science community brand.
Turning Progress Into Celebration
A badge and reward system that makes every milestone feel visible
The system extends beyond the platform into milestone emails, where members receive a celebratory reveal when they unlock a new level, turning digital progress into a more personal and rewarding moment.
Merchandise System
A personalized, narrative-driven experience that follows each child from the app to the park and back home.
Reflection
This project taught me how a brand can grow beyond a visual identity into a complete experience. By developing Toki across digital, physical, and collectible touchpoints, I learned to balance consistency with flexibility, keeping the character recognizable while allowing the system to feel playful, expressive, and relevant across different formats. The process also pushed me to think less about individual assets and more about how every interaction can contribute to a stronger sense of community and belonging.
